Pioneer International University (PIU) is a private institution located in Ngara, Nairobi, Kenya.

It was established in 2012 by Dr. Peter Munga. The university evolved from its predecessor, Pioneer International College, founded in 2006.

The university offers a range of programs, including undergraduate, diploma, certificate, and professional courses, with flexible learning modes such as face-to-face, blended, and online classes.

Pioneer International University (PIU) comprises several academic schools that include the School of Business and Management, the School of Development and Strategic Studies, the School of Information Communication Technology, the School of Aerospace Science and Maritime Studies, and the School of Education.

1. School of Strategic and Development Studies at Pioneer University

They offer a degree course in:

• Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy

This degree allows specialisation in three areas as follows;

• International Development
• Peace and Security Studies
• Foreign Policy and Diplomacy

Requirement: Must have an aggregate grade of C+ (C PLUS) in K.C.S.E. (or equivalent examination) and a minimum grade of C in English. Further to these, a C in either Geography, Business Studies or any language.

Fee: The Fee for this course ranges from Ksh140,062 per academic year.

Diploma Courses

The following are diploma courses offered at the University;

• International Relations & Diplomacy
• Social Work and Community Development

Requirement: Candidates must have an aggregate grade of C+ (C PLUS) in K.C.S.E. (or equivalent examination) and a minimum grade of C in English. Further to these, a C in either Geography, Business Studies or any language.

Certificate Courses

The following are Certificate Courses offered at PIU University;

Requirements: Candidates applying must have an aggregate grade of C+ (C PLUS) in K.C.S.E. (or equivalent examination) and a minimum grade of C in English. Further to these, a C in either Geography, Business Studies, or any language.

2. School of Business and Management

They offer a degree course in:

• Bachelor of Commerce

Requirements: Students applying for the above Degree course must have attained a KCSE certificate with a minimum of an aggregate of C+ (plus).

Fee: The Fee for this course ranges from Ksh150,084 per academic year.

Requirements: Students must attain a KCSE mean grade of C (C PLAIN) or its equivalent or have a KCSE mean grade C- or equivalent, plus a certificate and diploma.
