Three People have been confirmed dead in an accident involving a lorry that lost control before ramming into people, motorcycles and vehicles along the Kisii-Migori Road.
The accident happened in the morning of Saturday 15th, June 2024 near the Choma Choma Lounge in Kisii town.
Preliminary reports indicated that the truck is believed to have lost control before ramming into other vehicles where some people died on the spot, one being the driver and more than ten others were left in critical condition.
Confirming the accident, Kisii County Police Commander Charles Kases stated that a police officer attached to Nyanchwa Police Station, the driver of the lorry, and a pedestrian are among those who lost their lives in the early morning accident.

The lorry enroute to the Tanzania border lost control and hit guard rails at the Waumini Plaza area causing the deaths of 3 people.
According to preliminary reports from traffic officers leading the rescue operations, more people are feared to have sustained serious injuries in the Saturday morning accident.
A lorry transporting the sound system used by Luo Benga musician Prince Indah who was performing at the Choma Choma Lounge was also rammed into outside Waumini Plaza parking.

Photos seen by The Kenya Times showed wreckages of the lorry and motorcycles involved at the accident scene.
Barely, a day ago four people were killed in a grisly road accident involving a bus full of passengers at the Goff Choppa area near Marsabit town.
The tragic incident happened in the early hours of June 14,2024 along the Nairobi-Marsabit-Moyale route involving a bus registered under Sorres Sacco.
