A police officer assigned to man the ongoing KCPE examination was arrested on Monday October 30, after he was caught drunk.
The police officer stationed at Marioshoni Police Station in Nakuru County was arrested for failing to supervise the KCPE exams at Kimonio Primary School.
This was after one of the teachers found him drunk and asked him to take a nap in his house where the other officers found him and detained him.
Also, the school’s center manager, Elijah Biwott, had realized that the police officer assigned to the center was missing, raising concerns.

The KCPE test entered its second set on Tuesday 31, October, with candidates tackling Science, Kiswahili-Lugha, Insha papers.
On the other hand, KPSEA candidates tackled Integrated science, Kiswahili and sign language.
Notably, Education Principal Secretary Dr Belio Kipsang said the examinations were administered everywhere including areas with harsh weather.

“The most difficult was Marsabit but the whole country was able to sit for the examination,” he said.
Also, the Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu said they do not expect any malpractice in this year’s examination.
“We do not expect any single form of malpractice in this exam or the exam we are starting on November 4,” Machogu, stated.
KCPE AND KPSEA
On Monday, October 30, candidates in Class 8 and Grade 6 began their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations.
Additionally, this year’s test marks the end of KCPE under the 8-4-4 system as the cpuntry transitions to the Competency Based Curriculum – CBC.
Both tests will conclude on Wednesday, November 1. For the second year, the exams will be held concurrently with the new Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).

“This is our last KCPE, and we will not want any child to be disadvantaged. We have directed all officers to ensure all children sit for their exams,” Kipsang said on Monday morning.
President William Ruto encouraged students sitting the KCPE and KPSEA tests to do their best on Monday.
“To all candidates who are doing this exam today, I wish you all the best and success in these exams. As you go into the exam room know that you are not alone so be confident, do your best,” Ruto said on Monday.
