El Nino rains warning
The notice came days after Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja outlined several measures aimed at reducing the negative effects of El Nino rains as was projected by the Kenya Meteorological Department in September 11.
Moreover, Sakaja had identified the key contributor to foreseeable problems in the city to be poorly maintained and blocked drainage system.
However, there were concerns over lack of preparedness from the county government despite warnings of the impending El Nino.
According to the weatherman, the country will experience El Nino rains for three months from October to December.
